The General officer tier includes which ranks?

General officers are the senior flag officers, and their pay grades run from O-7 to O-10. This includes Brigadier General (Army/Air Force/Marine Corps) or Rear Admiral Lower Half (Navy/Coast Guard) at O-7, Major General or Rear Admiral (Upper Half) at O-8, Lieutenant General or Vice Admiral at O-9, and General or Admiral at O-10. The other tiers cover junior and field-grade officers (O-1 to O-3 and O-4 to O-6), which are not considered general officers. So the range O-7 to O-10 is the correct scope for the General officer tier.
